Melbourne Vegan powerlifting crew
There are some strong Vegan powerlifters meeting up in Melbourne every week, showing that one doesn't need to consume meat to become strong and muscular.
The group who go by the name of Melbourne Vegan Strength is made up of lifters from around Melbourne who meet up and test their strength in the three powerlifting movements.
There are some big numbers being thrown around with guys deadlifting 230+kg, squatting almost 200kg and benching 160+kg, numbers that many would be thrilled to lift.
The crew exclusively follow a vegan lifestyle and many members find they are a lot stronger and can recover faster without consuming animal products.
The crew have a website veganstrength.org where there are videos and photos from some of the lifting meets they hold as well as some information on training and nutrition.
The site is updated frequently and anyone who is interested in lifting heavy weight, vegan or otherwise, will find the site informative and interesting.
